Morteza "Mort" is a committed international management consultant with a diverse engineering and legal educational background, and extensive multi-disciplinary construction and business management experience. His expert skills were gained through achieving proven results over 25 years of experience in company operations and financial management, project management, construction law, construction contracts, procurement and risk management, quality assurance and multi-disciplinary design delivery and construction.He has managed a wide range of award winning, multi-disciplinary, multi-million dollar construction projects in UK, US and the Middle East. He has led design and delivery teams of up to 60 professionals involving up to 9 engineering disciplines (Civil, Structures, Building Services, Geotechnical, Environmental, Fire, Acoustics, Sustainability and Façade) on projects of over $400M project value.
As the Chief Operating Officer of the Los Angeles office of Buro Happold, a prominent international multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm, Mort led the operations, financial, risk, claims, contract management and project management oversight.
Prior to his move to Los Angeles, as an Associate Director of Buro Happold in London, he managed the operations of a successful multi-disciplinary building group of over 90 professionals, with commercial responsibility including business, risk, contracts, claims and financial management.
In a consulting capacity, Mort has delivered substantial benefits by successfully leading the development of Quality, Business, Project Management, Financial Management, and Commercial Risk Management Systems. He has developed and delivered in-house training material for senior engineers and project leaders.
As a management consultant, he has extensive experience and specialized expertise in working together with clients to deliver focused benefit in the areas of Project Management, Risk Management, Project claim and financial loss avoidance, Dispute Resolution, Contracts and Fees, Operations, Finance and Quality Management.
